Babe Ruth Pinch Hit Tobacco. Oh yeah, sponsorship, tobacco chewing and baseball, your traditional wholesome sports image: cheeks filled with brown, saliva-drenched spit-balls that contain 28 carcinogens. Of course, even though we now know what they apparently didn’t in the Forties, chewing tobacco is still associated with some of today’s baseball players. Perhaps they see themselves as traditionalists. Good role models they no longer are, as chewing tobacco is a known cause of human cancer, and increases the risk of developing cancer of the oral cavity. So, why not buy this sign as a conversation piece and as a warning to young baseball fans?
